Butternut Squash Gnocchi With Basil Pesto

Butternut Squash Gnocchi With Basil Pesto

I was supposed to make and edible bacon container with maple syrup mousse topped with meringue for my Daring Bakers April Challeng…guess what? There’s NO maple syrup in my country, we have communists ruling it (or at least trying to). SSSOOO the only part of the challenge I made was an edible container, it is about a parmesan cheese bowl filled with butternut squash gnocchi topped with basil pesto and tomato

It was so nice of you to participate even if not to the challenge guidelines. This dish could have been part of the Daring Cooks Challenge I hosted this month, which was savory edible containers.
I'm sure this gnocchi was delicious!

This is what I said to you in the DB forums:

"Hi sweetie! Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I disagree with you. :P Remember, we've got several exceptions to the main rules - and one of them is, if you can't find an ingredient or if an ingredient is too expensive, then you can skip it and replace it with something else, as long as you stay within the spirit of the challenge. You made edible cups with a filling - so you DID complete the challenge! :) Just remember that for next time.. because we'd all love to see your beautiful photos! Hugs! xoxox"

And now that I'm here to see your gorgeous creation, I'm even more sad you didn't post in the forums - because what you made looks AMAZING! You never cease to amaze me with your delicious and creative dishes! XOXOXOXOXO

As the co-founder of the Daring Kitchen stated in messages #552 you did complete the challenge. By the rules you are allowed to subs ingredients if they are not locally available you just have to keep to the spirit of the challenge and you did that marvellously. I love the colours of the various titbits and the the gnocchi is perfectly formed and with cheese bowl would of been so delicious. It sounds like you are having a hard time in your country I hope things cheer up for you! I send you my love and joy. Hope your friends and family are doing well and that all the small illnesses have gone away.
